As soon as we enter this world our mind is learning, gaining wisdom, getting perspectives, and developing different states of mind.
Your state of mind (or as some call it moods) impacts how you live your life, how you feel physically and emotionally and how successful you are. We all flow through different states of mind during the day from being in a happy, positive, or successful state to being in a sad, negative or failure state.
These states govern how you experience and succeed in your life.
Self confidence creates a confidence state. Fear of failing creates a failure state. Worrying about anxiety can create an anxious state. Empowerment creates a successful state. These states create your reality.
For example, if you experience social anxiety and you are invited to a party and started to worry about being anxious this will naturally create an anxious state and there is a high possibility that you will feel socially anxious.
Another example is confidence and a sense of empowerment to create a new business. You may still have reservations, fear or anxiety about this new and exciting step and the confidence state will guide you to look at these fear and anxiety with clarity and perspective. The confidence state will help you to move forward in your life and succeed.
Someone once said that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different state. This is what happens to many people because they simply do not know how to change their mental states.
Mental states are not stagnant or still.
What if you knew how to change your mental state? What if I said you can change your mental state - and it's much easier than you ever thought. All you have to do is decide to change and take action to do it. You may still feel social anxious initially. This time rather than focussing on anxiety your focus is on the outcome you want - to feel, be and act calm and confident. The result being a confident state.
Our mind is constantly evolving and changing and each person has the ability to learn and implement new states of mind into their life. A point to remember is that we are human and can be quite complex at times. You can't always control what state of mind you experience as some states are necessary for that particular moment. However, by creating awareness, and building new resources and skills you have the choice to stay in that old state or create a new useful state which is more beneficial to you and your life.
So today I invite you to watch and be mindful of your emotional states. Learn from how you show up in the world and what states of mind you exist the most in.
Remember you do have a choice what state you experience your life in.
