Articles and writing with Linda Connors
As an anxiety hypnotherapist I have worked with many people with anxiety and through my own personal experience of anxiety in my mid-twenties I understand how anxiety can impact your life.
I've put together 3 great tips to help reduce anxiety, please come back soon as I will be sharing more tips within the next few weeks.
If you have any comments please add them at the bottom of the article as I would love to read them.
Tip 1 - Thoughts
The stories that you tell yourself simply increase anxiety. Thought are simply words flowing though your mind and it's the attachment that gives words their power.
Challenge your thoughts - ask is this true?
Do not use your energy to constantly push thoughts away or ignore them, instead allow them to be present and introduce new thoughts such as "I am okay", or "I am safe".
Tip 2 - Calmness
Learn meditation, breathing or calmness exercises and put them into practise on a daily basis.
Tip 3 - Give up coffee!
If you drink coffee - give it up or try and reduce your consumption. Coffee is a stimulant which increases your heart rate. If you are sensitive to anxiety, coffee replicates the anxiety on a physical level and your body and mind reacts to the changes in your body as anxiety.
These are just 3 simple tips but do not underestimate them. If you put them into action you can begin to make a difference in how you feel.

Do you suffer from anxiety, is it impacting your life?
Have you tried to reduce or overcome anxiety with little or no success?
As an Anxiety Hypnotherapist, I have helped many people with anxiety. I understand the impact of anxiety not only because of my work with clients, but also I have experienced severe anxiety in my mid-twenties.
Anxiety gets bad press, people don’t like it and they simply want it to go away and leave them alone. However have you considered that rather than pushing anxiety away there is another way to be with it?
Let me explain.
Anxiety is a feeling of fear or panic about situations in life, money issues, work, or personal problems. It’s a fear of what may happen and once the situation is over the anxiety reduces and you feel calmer and more relaxed. However for some people the feelings of fear or anxiety continues and can impact every day life.
Anxiety is simply a symptom of what is happening on an unconscious level, and incorporates your past experience, thoughts and self-beliefs about you, your future and the fear of the unknown.
I have had my fair share of anxiety over the years. Nearly fifteen years ago, in my mid-twenties anxiety and me were at war. Anxiety was ruining my life, impacting relationships, work and travelling.
We had this game anxiety and me. I would avoid it, ignore it, use food and alcohol to try and block it out. But these wouldn't help as anxiety came back stronger than before.
I tried different forms of therapy from counselling and psychotherapy to CBT but they didn't help and anxiety kept on knocking on my door – loud and clear.
I discovered there is another way to be……to live…..
Anxiety is a symptom which represents our belief systems, thoughts, identity, and past experiences.
Anxiety is a perfect normal human response to what is happening to use, and around us. It can also be a sign that something is out of balance emotionally within you. One of the first step in learning how to manage anxiety is to accept it. This may not be aligned with your ultimate goal of eliminating anxiety but through acceptance, your focus, energy and attention can be used elsewhere and anxiety will not need to be so strong to get your attention.
Accepting anxiety helps you to feel calmer, more focussed on today, and relaxed.
What is the first step you can do to begin to accept anxiety? Nurture it, be compassionate towards it, change the way you speak to anxiety?
I am passionate about working with people who experience anxiety in their lives as I understand first hand how much anxiety can impact your life. I also know it is possible to break free from the anxiety which is holding you back and begin to live the life want.
As a hypnotherapist I also integrate hypnosis with counselling, coaching, mind and body connection and mindfulness in the work that we do.
Anxiety hypnotherapy appointments are available in London in Harley Street and Somerset in Glastonbury and Bath

Eczema is a deliberating condition and impacts confidence, self esteem and body image. As a Hypnotherapist in London I work have created a six weeks 1-2-1 Eczema Hypnotherapy programme to help manage skin conditions, heal the skin and feel more confident.
The six weeks programme combines hypnosis, therapy, stress management, mindfulness, Body RePatterning and mind and body therapy.
What is Body RePatterning?
Body RePatterning works with the physical aspect of the body, the embedded patterns, responses and how your body responds to stress, anxiety and trauma. It helps help the physical body to release the old way and creates a new physical, emotional response and behaviour patterns. I also use this approach with sexual issues, blushing and addictions.
Causes of eczema – how stress impact your skin
Your skin is an organ, just like your heart is. Your heart responds to stress and anxiety by beating faster, the stomach responds to stress by creating ulcers or other digestive problems. The skin is no different - it is sensitive to emotions and situations - shock may turn your skin pale, embarrassment makes you blush, and stress and anxiety can trigger skin problems such as eczema.
When you become stressed, the level of cortisol (stress hormone) rises in the body which causes oil production to increase which flows to the skin. Cortisol also stops the water production in the skin, so this reduces the skin's ability to repair itself.
How Eczema Hypnotherapy works
As a hypnotherapist, therapist and Coach I use my deep understanding of the mind and body connection – how thoughts, feelings and emotions impact the body. The eczema hypnotherapy sessions include working on many different levels and combines hypnosis, Body RePatterning, stress management, mindfulness, coaching, mind and body connection therapy.
Relaxation - By combining relaxation, breathing and stress management into your life, you will start to feel calmer and much more stronger to be able to cope with life's ups and downs. When you feel calm, your skin and body relaxes too. .
Healing - The mind and body are both powerful aspects of you, as I
incorporate your mind and body into a state of healing through visualisations to help start the process of healing the skin and eczema.
Mind and body connection - Your thoughts do have a direct impact upon your body, and your body has a direct impact on your thoughts. The mind and body also responds to emotions. So it is important to build a bridge linking the mind and body connection and your inner emotions to help develop a stronger inner and
Therapy and Coaching - Eczema may be your body's way of expressing and releasing something which you may find difficult to do, perhaps it is stress, anxiety or related to a stressful incident or traumatic experiencing. Therapy helps to create awareness, understanding, process and movement which helps to facilitate long-lasting change.
