How to see gold in mistakes, failures or challenges

As a society we have been conditioned to view mistakes or failures as wrong. It's a sign of a weakness of our character.

As a Coach and Hypnotherapist in London I see many fear failure and it's no wonder why. Because they look at mistakes in the wrong light. They focus on what went wrong, what others think of them and how terrible a person they are for making the mistake.

When you just focus on the failure or mistake you are simply diverting your energy on the error and it becomes difficult to move forward. As a result you experience more fear, stress and anxiety.

If you begin to see mistakes and failures as an opportunity for potential growth and development your life will begin to change and you open the door to more grown, success and happiness.

When you begin to explore the situation or even, your accountability and responsibility (without blame or judgement) you see the situation much more clearly.

This new perspective provides you with insights, and learnings which you can apply into your life. When you do this it creates growth, movement and strength of character.

This allows you to grow and develop and can be applied to any situation from relationships, business, family, financial situation and personal life.

This journey in your life is not about standing still and focusing on the past mistakes and failures. It's an evolutionary journey of growth and development and that is where real success, joy and happiness expands from.

The gold is not on what happened. It been and gone and you can't change the past. The gold is what you can learn from the experience and grow from it.

Focus your attention and energy on what is important, create movement, grow and develop and take action. As a result you have the opportunity to create a meaningful and extraordinary life.

Do you think all hypnotherapists are the same?

At times people who contact me ask if I use suggestion, clinical hypnotherapy or positive affirmations. They mentioned they have been to a hypnotherapist who used these and it simply didn't work.

Sadly not all hypnotherapist are the same.

Some have only attended a five day workshops and are then unleashed on the unsuspecting public. With inadequate training, no supervision and little understanding of the role of the thoughts, emotions and trauma on the mind and body they can cause more damage than help people - especially when they use regression therapy.

I have lost count the number of times a new client comes to me either being traumatised or lost faith in hypnotherapy because of an experience with a unprofessional and unethical hypnotherapist.

Last year I met a hypnotherapist in a workshop who refused to be hypnotised herself as she was afraid - yet she worked with clients. Other hypnotherapists who work with public speaking yet they themselves have a fear of speaking in public.

Another hypnotherapist who worked with sexual issues yet he had a fear of intimacy himself, bad relationship history and also had sexual issues - yet he worked with others to overcome these fears that he himself could not.

I have met other hypnotherapist who simply use "scripts" they download from the internet - a one size fits all approach.

Over the past ten years I have invested a lot of time, energy and money to enable me to excel in what I do. My personal and professional development has contributed to my success as a hypnotherapist and coach.

My clients successes are also represented by this.

My training has consisted of - counselling, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, coaching, sexual issues, sexual empowerment, movement therapy, NLP, anxiety, stress, happiness coaching, public speaking, intimacy, love, mind and body connection and mindfulness meditation just to name a few.

So, as you can see not all hypnotherapist are the same.

When you are looking for a hypnotherapist to work with - do not be afraid to ask them questions. Ask them how long they have been working, what their training involved, do they participated in continued professional development. Ask them any questions that can help you make the choice to work them.

I wish you all the best and success in your hypnotherapy journey.

Are you ready to embrace change in your life?

One of my favourite time of year is spring especially in beautiful Somerset. Spring is in the air as we get ready to leave behind winter. The nights are getting longer. The sky is a crisp open blue. The earth is beginning to open up from it's slumber. Trees are budding. The wild flowers are sprouting. Snow drops grace the earth and daffodils are preparing to emerge.

On an emotional and physical level my body is adjusting to this change as well.

As winter gets ready to leave. My body is also beginning to stir and wake up. It feels like a new beginning. A new cycle. Creativity, hopes and dreams are beginning to flow together and I am preparing to take action.

I feel rested, excited and getting ready to embrace change. Each season is also a cycle within us.

As a society many have forgotten that the seasons of the month is also a season within us. Use this time and prepare you mind and body to go forth into the world. Let this spring be your inspiration to create the changes you so deeply desire.

As the nights get longer and the temperature begins to increase also feel the light and warmth in your heart.

Go outside and embrace spring. Experience it with nature itself. Go for a walk in the countryside. Or if you life in the city - go and visit a park. Just be. Experience. Watch. Breath.

This quote is a wonderful reminder of this cycle and we have a choice on how experience life with each season.

We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the fall or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives. Gary Zukav

As a society many have forgotten our connection with the land.

Do you listen to your body?

7/2/2015

Most of us are taught from a very early age that as we move through life from school, university, work, to focus on physical needs and accomplishments. The emotional needs are often neglected and ignored.

Our bodies talk to us in many different ways - through anxieties, fears, addictions, illness and heart ache.

Perhaps you also feel a range of sensations or feelings in your body which feel uncomfortable. So you try to "fix them" by going over compensating on either food, exercise, drugs, alcohol or mindlessly roaming the world of facebook or twitter.

Your body has a message for you

Sometimes the emotions you experience are actually trying to tell you something. Perhaps something is out of balance in your life on a mind, body or heart level. But you are misreading the signals and try to push or ignore the emotion, feeling or thought away.

Your body is your friend.

In this day and age of internet activity and disconnection we have forgotten our most important relationship in our life is actually with ourselves and our body.

Treat your body well with love, kindness, compassion and respect. Your body has it's own innate wisdom. Learn to listen and hear its message. As a result you will begin to bring back love, harmony and balance back into your life, relationships and work.

Stop surviving and start thriving in your life

Here are two very important questions to ask yourself.
  1. Are you surviving or thriving in your life?
  2. Are you just living to pay off your bills until you die or are you living each moment to the highest of your potential?
I invite you to really think and consider these questions because your answers are the key to what your next step in life is.
The cycle of surviving

The cycle of simply just surviving is floating through life in a state of unhappiness simply working, sleeping, eating and paying off bills. Merely just surviving. They give their responsibility and accountability away to governments, employees, the global economic difficulties and even family members or partners who "make them unhappy".

I was once caught up in the cycle of surviving. Let me tell you I was extremely unhappy. I thought to myself is this is - work, pay bills, survive until the day I died.

It wasn't and I went on a journey and moved from surviving to thriving. As a result my life opened up and expanded. I experienced more joy, happiness, connection and love.

The art of thriving in your life

To thrive in your life takes courage, commitment, humour, and inner strength. The courage to step outside of your comfort zone. The commitment to stay true to your path. Humour to laugh on your journey. Inner strength to stay true to your path regardless of any fear, anxiety, or stress you may experience.

Take 100% responsibility for your life, our choices and your actions.

As a Hypnotherapist and Coach, I help people to break the cycle of simply surviving to thriving. To find out more contact me on 075 3421 3557.
