In my last post I invited you to think about happiness and what does it mean to you. The longing for happiness isn't something that is modern, and new for our time, there has been much wisdom, advice and thoughts about happiness which stems from 2000 years ago. Here are some tips for happiness, some of them have passed down many generations human civilisations. Your perception How you choose to live is guided by your perception of life - is your glass half empty - or half full? If it is half empty what lens are you looking through and what do you see? How you view yourself and the world around you a conscious habit and pattern. Your inner reality reflects your outer reality Your view forms your perception of your inner and outer world which determines how you live your life, begin to change your perception and you can begin to change your life. Start by enjoying and finding happiness in small every day things - like a flower, sun set, a beautiful clear blue sky, or a sky filled with shape shifting clouds. Focus on the present moment. You only have this moment, this now. By focusing on the past can cause depression and focusing too much on the future can cause anxiety, so learn now to enjoy this present moment in time. By putting your energy into yesterday or tomorrow you may just miss what is in front of you - and it may be filled with happiness. Mindfulness meditation is a great way to learn how to be in the moment. Learning to accept and love yourself If you don't accept and love yourself happiness will always be a goal beyond your reach. Be compassionate, kind and understanding to yourself. Follow your dreams - because you are worth it! Be grateful Focusing on what you have rather than what you don't have is a fantastic step to finding your bubbles of happiness. Be grateful for your inner quality and beautiy, what you have, the sunshine, the rain, the stars, your family, friends or partner. Bubbles of happiness Allow happiness to flow in and out of your life, don't get too attached to it, and it simply isn't possible to be happy in every second of the day. Be with all your feelings and emotions as without feeling sad you can't truly experience happiness. Dance with your bubbles of happiness, laugh and smile and when it's time to leave, nod your head acknowledge that when the time is right the bubbles of happiness will be dancing by your side.
