It's so easy to get caught up in the flow of non-existence.
By non-existence, I mean hiding from life. Perhaps you work hard all day and come home and sit in front of the TV night after night allowing hours just to fall away into a nothingness. Or maybe you zone out in front of your laptop or phone to mindlessly surf the internet.
I am seeing a regular pattern emerging with some clients. They say "I want to do xxxx but I have no motivation, I waste hours on the internet or facebook, or I watch TV mindlessly for hours at a time".
As a society, we are starting to use the internet to self-medicate. I read an article last week that said teenagers are replacing drugs and alcohol with extreme screen time.
As a result often many are detaching and disconnecting from themselves, life and emotions with many opportunities and hours lost.
A simple yet effective questions to change your life
Will being on facebook or the internet make me happy in five hours time?
Often the answer is no.
I ask them to give themselves options and check which option will provide more balance, harmony and happiness into their lives. Here are some examples:
When I offer this question and option to my clients, I love seeing the shift in their body and thoughts. It's as though they realise that they actually do have a choice and that choice is more powerful than a numbing and mindless habit.
It's important to realise that you also have a choice - a very conscious choice in how you want to exist in your life and this world. Do you want to have a non-existence or do you want to experience your life to the full and your highest potential.
How this question works
This question is designed to get you out of your habits and behavioural pattern by lightening up your choices, options and decisions.
When you ask yourself this question, really think and feel in your body what each option feels like and go forward in time and experience what your life will be like with each option - your thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Sometimes your body may need a rest to recharge - and it's important to realise that - however if the hiding and retreating are becoming your way of life this one powerful question may be the source to guide you to make fundamental changes in your life.
This question allows you to focus on what is important to you, guiding you towards a life which is much more meaningful to you with a great perspective.

During the past working 12 months working in as a London Life Coach I have seen dramatic changes in my clients outlook and experience of life, and at time this was only after two sessions. It is truly inspirational and I feel very blessed and honoured to be part of their journey if only for a short while.
My approach to Life coaching is an authentic one. In my life, out shopping, talking to friends or working with clients - I walk my talk. Which means that my clients see me for who I truly am, there are no walls, no masks and definitely no "professional boundaries" getting in the way of deep relational life coaching.
This is how deep change can happen so quickly - I am in touch with who I am - my strengths, my weaknesses, and the things in between - because that is what makes me unique and an individual.
This energy is felt in the room and creates an open space of honesty, inspirational, creativity, intuition and action that flows between me and my clients.
Sometimes people ask what I do, or how I help people.
I have been thinking about this, as sometimes it's hard for me to articulate because it's not one process, it's about our connection, your past, how you approach life and what you wish to achieve.
I recently read a book by Michael Neill and what he described really resonated with me and how I work, so wanted to share here with you if you are considering life coaching.
Level 1 - Change in a specific situation
Many people come to me because they want to change a specific situation - either improve their performance in bed, stop binge drinking, feel more motivated or improve their public speaking skills.
Level 2 - Change a specific life situation
At this level people work with me because there is an area in life they want to change - such as increasing confidence, improving relationships, and improving their general well being.
Level 3 - Global change
People who want to work with me at this level want to stop being an audience in their life. It goes beyond coping strategies, learning new skills or techniques. It's about create real changes in the way they think, feel and experience their life. So they shift their perspectives and see themselves, their life and relationship is a whole new way.
What level do I need
I meet you at what you need. At times the levels do blend together quite beautifully to help guide and support you on your journey through life.
Meeting you in your world
In my own previous personal experience of Life Coaching, and being coached by others, it really surprised me how the coaches expected me to go into their world, with their values, belief systems and not surprisingly I didn't receive anything from the sessions.
I understand the frustrations of life, feeling stuck but fearing change, the courage it takes sometimes to make fundamental changes in life but I also understand that in life there is hope. Regardless of what has happened in your past you can flourish beyond your wildest imagination. How do I know? I am living proof of that.
With this in mind - I meet you in your world, with your values, beliefs and experiences. Do not get me wrong, if there is anything I need to challenge I will! I guess another way of saying I meet you in your world is saying I step into your life with you, and experience your life as you do, and from this new place of understanding I guide you through to what you wish to change and how you want to experience your life.
